About the incinerator designers and manufacturers

Jean Vandewalle
President & Director - BIC Systems NV & BIC Systems Asia Pacific Pte Ltd & BIC Group

Jean is the founder and main shareholder (60%) of the BIC Group, which comprises BIC Systems NV (Belgium) and BIC Systems Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (Singapore). BIC Systems NV started in 1972 and specialises in combustion systems for waste incinerators, precious metal recovery systems, waste-to-energy systems to customers worldwide, in particular Europe, Africa and Asia.

Prior to founding BIC Systems, Jean was Managing Director of the Machinery Division of Swedish Match Group (SMG), in charge of the Benelux region. SMG is a company active in cement production, matches, all kinds of machinery like open coal mine handling equipment, conveying systems, waste collection vehicles, incinerators, construction of chimneys.

Jean Vandewalle has a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and has an extensive experience in control equipment as well (worked 7 years with Fisher Governor and Farris).

Tom Vandewalle
Managing Director BIC System NV & Director BIC SYSTEMS Asia Pasific Pte Ltd

 Tom is the Managing Director of BIC Systems n.v and is a minority shareholder (40%) and director of BIC Group. He leads the European team in covering the European, American and African markets. He also leads the incinerator design and engineering team of BIC Group in Belgium, servicing worldwide clients.

Tom has positioned the company at the top of the niche market of hazardous waste-to-energy systems, at a global scale. He continues to focus on improving and expanding BIC Group’s present products to make them better, more efficient and at the forefront of the industry.

Tom has a Masters of Engineering Science from KIH De Nayer and a Bachelor of Applied Science / Business Economics from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
