Because toxic gasses of the waste incinerator can have a serious impact on the human health it is a requirement to continuously monitor them at the exit of the stack. In case the monitoring shows too high values, the installation shuts down automatically.
The emission monitoring system measures in real time an half hour average and a daily average of the emission levels in the stack.

Continious measuring system
Continious emission monitoring system according to EU regulations contains a complete flue gas monitoring system for O2, CO2, CO, Nox, Sox, HCl, HF and particulates. All values are permanently visualized on a dedicated PC screen and stored on HDD. A dedicated switch board/ PLC assembly manages the entire system. The flue gas monitoring system measures values for following parameters continuously:

HF

Extractive FID
in-situ tribo-electrical
Works by impingment of particulate matter (PM) on a rod.
semi extractive IR
HCl ismeasured in the stack because a significant fraction would dissapear with the stack condensate.
extractive IR
HF ismeasured in the stack because a significant fraction would dissapear with the stack condensate.
Extractive Zirconium dioxide
This method give more stable and repeatable measurements than the paramagnetic type.
Extractive FID
FID or flame ionisation detection burns VOC compounds that will break down into basic compounds for measurement with CH4 as a reference.
