Energy recovery

The flue gasses have in the post combustion chamber 1100 degr.C. Because the bag house filter will be damaged by those high temperatures there is an amount of energy which can be recovered. The bag house requires a flue gas of about 200 degr.C. The system to cool the flue gas from 1100 to 200 degr.C is the energy recovery system.

The optimal recovered system depends on the local situation and production facilities in the neighbourhood. We give some examples:

Case study 1: hot water

In a hospital is a waste incinerator installed of 300 kg/h and there is hot water necessary for the central heating system of the buildings.

Case study 2: steam

In an industrial park is a waste incinerator installed of 1200 kg/h, the installation is situated next to the elektricity power station. The incineration plant sells the steam to the electricity power station.

Case study 3: hot air

The rotary kiln incineration plant of 3000 kg/h is situated next to the WWTP, hot air is used to dry the sludge of the WWTP, dry fluff or biomass. This type of incinerator is also called a drying waste incinerator.

Case Study 4: steam + electricity

The rotary kiln has a capacity of 2.000.000 kCal/h (+/- 5.000 kg/h) and a steam boiler recovers energy from the flue gas and drives a turbine on. The plant operator sells the electricity to the grid.

Case study 5: destillation and plastic recycling

Destillation processes require energy. If the energy can be created with the waste, it will be economical more profitable.
